Vice President of Portfolio Management

Position Description | Borgman Capital is seeking a Vice President of Portfolio Management in its Milwaukee or Twin Cities office. Candidates should have relevant experience in operations, management consulting or private equity. Candidates must be entrepreneurial in nature and should have a strong operations background, superior communication skills, and a track record of success in previous employment positions. The role will be primarily responsible for supporting and managing Borgman Capital’s portfolio companies, helping drive strategy and value, and realizing attractive exit opportunities.

Responsibilities |

  • Assist and evaluate the growth strategy of portfolio companies, lend advice, and lead portfolio companies towards their growth goals and roadmaps.

  • Work with and support existing portfolio companies, including attending board meetings and monitoring performance to ensure returns and strategic objectives are achieved.

  • Prepare detailed memos, reports and presentations on investment performance and activity based on regular meetings with portfolio companies.

Skills Required |

  • Master’s degree in business or other quantitative-focused field of study

  • Passionate about private equity investments and strong intellectual curiosity

  • Five or more years of experience in operations, management consulting or private equity

  • Strong understanding of management development and business strategy and execution

  • A strong work ethic, moral compass and deep sense of accountability

  • Continuous focus on improving existing processes and challenging status quo
